The Only Reason Why You Suffer
Many people go through life with deep wounds in their bodies, soul, and spirit. I do not want to address the wounds that you have on your physical body, but I am interested in the wounds that you carry in your inner-self. Sometimes you may conclude that you are unfortunate or the universe is punishing you when things do not go your way or meet your expectations. Suffering is not a palpable thing, but an emotion or feeling that impact our way of being. You cannot feel anything unless your sensory system process it: sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch.
Our interpretation of what we see, smell, taste, hear and touch causes us to be happy or frustrated. For instance, I, recently, took an Uber and the other passenger was mad with the driver for picking her up late. She called the driver with a different type of racial slur, but the driver never answered back. At the end of the ride, the other passenger got off the car and I touched the driver's back and I asked him why did he never address the passenger's racial slur. He took his phone and type that "I am deaf my friend, is everything okay". I looked at him and I gave him a thumbs up. It is true that all of us have not lost our senses, but if we can interpret or shut down the ability to process the information that we receive in our senses; we would suffer less. Also, I want you to remember you cannot control what happens to you, but you are totally in control of how you respond to what happens to you which is the only reason why you suffer.
Wouldn't you agree?
